According to Ghanasportspage.com, Coach James Kwesi Appiah is on the verge of becoming the next coach of Asante Kotoko.
Sources suggest that an agreement in principle has been reached between the former Black Stars coach and the club. It's also reported that Kwesi Appiah will coach the team for free if CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah agrees to his conditions.
However, the 62-year-old trainer is yet to commit himself to the role until the agreement is made official and public.
Kwesi Appiah, who has an impressive coaching record, would bring a wealth of experience to Asante Kotoko. He has been without a club since leaving Kenpong Soccer Academy earlier this year.
During his playing career, he won ten trophies with the Porcupine Warriors, including the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1983. He later served as an assistant coach for the team before being promoted to head coach from 1995 to 1996.
