Former Ghana Football Association Vice President, George Afriyie has revealed that he wasn't ready when he was offered the chance to head the management of Asante Kotoko.

George Afriyie was reported to have been contacted for the top job but declined in 2020.

 
Subsequently, his fellow loser in the 2019 GFA presidential race Nana Yaw Amponsah was interviewed and appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko.
 
Nana Yaw Amponsah has a-year left on his three year deal.
 
George Afriyie is the bankrolle of Division One side Susubiribi FC.
 
George Afriyie has shockingly revealed that he wasn't ready for head Asante Kotoko in 2020.
 
“I was invited by the current Kotoko Board to be interviewed and be offered the CEO position. At the time, I said ‘no, I’m not ready," he told Untold Stories TV GH.
 
“If you are offered any position at a time, you look at whether you are ready for it or not. So at the time, honestly, I wasn’t ready at all," he added.
