Asante Kotoko's Cameroonian attacker, Georges Mfegue has commended the great defensive abilities of his new teammate Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen who joined the club about a week ago.
The stalwart center-back joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three year deal after having an impressive campaign with Real Tamale United last season.
He's already joined his other teammates in Beposo for preseason ahead of the 2023/24 football season.
In an interview, Mfegue, who is heading into his third season with Kotoko, said Nurudeen is very strong physically, strong in aerial duels and also a great passer of the ball, having likened his style to Dutch and Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
"He plays like Van Dijk. He has everything. Good in the air and on the ground physically and technically [He's is good]"
"Sure [I'm happy he won't be my opponent anymore]. I don't like it when defenders push me and chase me with so many tackles so if he is in my team now, I am very happy about that."
Asante Kotoko will engage in another double friendlies against Asekem FC and current Ashanti Regional Division two champions PAC Academy on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
