Executive council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr. Randy Abbey, has revealed that talks are far underway for the domestic football governing body to renew its partnership with betPawa.

Betpawa and the GFA had initially signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with provisions for annual renewals. However, Betpawa reviewed its sponsorship and determined that it is in its best interest to withdraw from the partnership, leaving many stakeholders disappointed.

Abbey has now uplifted the spirit of fans and stakeholders, saying, “Well, it’s a partnership that was signed for one year; there was the expression to renew from both parties and we have gone far," he told Joy Sports.

“I can say that we have almost concluded the negotiation and I’m sure that in the next few days, both parties will announce the details, so we are renewing for another year."
