Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has revealed that the GFA will soon announce the renewal of their partnership with betPawa.
The betting company, which had initially been the headline sponsor for Ghana's top-flight football, withdrew its support during the 2023/24 season, sparking concerns about the future of the partnership.
Addressing these concerns, Abbey assured stakeholders that progress has been made in negotiations. "It’s a partnership that was signed for one year; both parties showed interest in renewing, and we have made significant progress," Abbey told JoySports.
He added, “I can confirm that we are very close to finalizing the renewal, and I’m confident that in the coming days, both parties will announce the details. We are set to renew for another year.”
With the new Ghana Premier League season scheduled to start on September 6, the confirmation of this sponsorship renewal will be a key development for the league.
