Dr. Tony Aubynn, a member of the board of Medeama Sporting Club, has expressed his concern regarding the prize money of three hundred thousand (300,000) Ghana Cedis awarded for winning the Ghana Premier League.
As the champions of the 2022/23 GPL season, the Mauve and Yellows will receive this amount from the Ghana Premier League as their reward.
Nevertheless, a member of the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council commended the association for their support to clubs in various ways, acknowledging the limitations in providing more substantial financial rewards.
"I fully agree that it is concerning to receive a prize of three hundred thousand (300,000) Ghana Cedis after going through the challenges of the league," he stated during an interview with Joy News.
"However, it is important to recognize that we cannot give what we do not have. The Ghana Football Association is engaged in numerous other activities and provides support in various forms.
"In the past, smaller teams had to secure their own boots, footballs, and other essentials. Nowadays, the FA strives to supply some of these things."
