Medeama SC nipped on Emmanuel Cudjoe's late goal to beat Nations FC by 2-1 at the new TnA Stadium to pick their first win in the ongoing GHALCA Top 4 competition.
The game was really an explosive one and the two sides started on a good note and exhibited some top tier football in the opening minutes.
With Medeama SC slightly on top in terms of dominance, and snatched the lead on the 37th minute thanks to a Diawisie Taylor header from a very good delivery.
The Mauves and Yellows preserved their lead through half time with some solid piece of work from their backline to deny some dangerous incursions from the opposition end.
In the second 45 minutes, Nations FC went back to right all their wrongs and began to take the game under their control with Medeama focused on keeping their lead this time.
However, the equalizer finally came through for the Eagles thanks to a Nafiu Sulemana goal on the 72nd minute.
In the closing moments, Emmanuel Cudjoe scored late to restore their lead and win the game for Medeama SC with a 2-1 scoreline.
Earlier this afternoon, Bechem United recorded their second victory in the competition with an emphatic 3-0 win over Sekondi Eleven Wise, thanks to a brace from Abdul Rauf coupled with another from Bismark Yartey.
The final round of matches will be held this Sunday, August 25, when Nations FC take on Bechem United and Medeama SC facing Sekondi Eleven Wise.
