The Still believe lads will rake the amount due to Fatawu Issahaku's short stint at the fold of the club during the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, which contributed to earn a call-up for the Word Cup qualifiers. Issahaku's mother club Steadfast will also get $109,504.72.
On the other hand, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad is the reason newly relegated top tier side King Faisal will receive a portion of the money due to his loan spell at the club.
In all, five Ghanaian clubs benefitted from the FIFA Club Benefits Programme with the two powerhouses - Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak raking-up the highest amount, $219,008.70 and $200,757.97, respectively, by virtue of the inclusion of Ibrahim Danlad and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
The money will be transferred to the Ghana Football Association, which will subsequently be disbursed to the right beneficiary teams.
The FIFA World Cup Club Benefits Programme was designed to recognize the contribution which football clubs make to the success of staging the FIFA World Cup.
Under the Programme, a share of the benefits from the successful hosting of a FIFA World Cup is distributed via the Member Associations to the clubs of the players who participate in the FIFA World Cup.
