Aduana Stars have moved to the second position of the Premier League for the time being after beating Nations FC 1-0 at Nana Agyemang Badu Park this afternoon.
Yaw Acheampong’s side fought robustly to take all three points, after Yussif Chibsah Alhassan fired them into a 57th minute lead, which turned out to be the winner with 33 minutes remaining.
The win takes Aduana six points beneath league leaders Samartex, ahead of the Timber Giants' clash with Heart of Lions at the Kpando Stadium tomorrow, which will change the points on the leaderboard.
For Nations FC, they have slipped-down to third, one point off (on 48 points) behind Aduana, which wouldn’t be enough for African qualification this term.
But, Kasim Mingle will be slightly disappointed at his team's lack of threat in the second half, as the hosts continued their territorial domination after the break, with Chibsah Alhassan finding the back of the net, with a fine finish to annex the maximum points for Aduana.
