Legon Cities recorded a 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak at Dawu Park on Saturday afternoon.
Midfielder Albert Yeboah scored both goals for Cities, who have moved into 11th position (on 35 points) in the Premier League table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
The Royals were dominating the contest but both teams were level at the interval despite Cities domination for long spells.
After recess, Cities were straight back on the front foot and in search of the game's opening goal.
However, the breakthrough came in the 54th minute, with Yeboah on the scoresheet, firing home a brilliant finish.
Cities then doubled their advantage in the 67th minute, with Yeboah scoring his second of the day to secure all three points for Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side.
Today’s defeat has moved Hearts of Oak to the 10th position on 35 points.
Cities will continue their league campaign away to Berekum Chelsea next Friday, while Hearts will sit home and welcome regional rivals’ Accra Lions to Accra Sports Stadium next Sunday.
