Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, and Bismark Oppong scored the goals as Nations FC recorded a 3-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League contest at Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
Kasim Mingle’s side proved to be far too strong for the Bebires on the afternoon, with the result making it two wins for Nations from their last four league matches.
The hosts sit 3rd in the table, now on 34 points from their 21 league matches this season, while Berekum Chelsea are fifth, six points behind first-placed Samartex.
The first half-chance of the match came for Nations in the 45th minute, right on the stroke of half-time as they made the breakthrough in the contest through Asamoah Boateng Afriyie.
The home side then doubled their advantage in the 71st minute through Bismark Oppong, with the forward burying the ball into the back of the net.
Berekum Chelsea attempted to respond on a few occasions, but their efforts proved fruitless for the visitors.
Nations added gloss to the scoreline just nine minutes from stoppage time, though, with Asamoah Boateng finding the back of the net.
The home side will be bidding to make it two league wins in a row when they welcome Dreams FC to Abrankese in an outstanding match-week 18 fixture on Wednesday, while Berekum Chelsea will return to league duties next Sunday, playing as host to Bechem United at the Golden City Park in Berekum in match-week 23 fixture.
