Dreams FC struggles continued on Sunday, after they could only manage a 2-2 draw at home against Samartex. Two goals from Dreams forward, Agyenim Boateng, rescued a point for the Still Believes, but the dropped points opened the door for the Timber Giants to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Samartex made most of the running in a dominant first half display at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu. Their pressure paid off in the 19th and 22nd minutes when forward Evans Osei Wusu smashed in two goals, before Agyenim Boateng pulled one back before recess. Dreams struggled to create many clear chances, and went into half time two goals down.
Three minutes after recess, efforts from Dreams goal dangler’ Agyenim Boateng went begging, before finally netting the equaliser in an intense load-laden style.
The second half saw Dreams mount wave after wave of solid attacks and pressure, but were unable to find a dramatic late winner.
The result leaves Dreams in the 13th position with 27 points, while Samartex still sits top of the summit with 39 points.
