Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Frederick Asare has earned his debut Black Stars call up ahead of the international friendlies coming up later this month.

Coach Otto Addo, after being reappointed as the Black Stars head coach, has already announced his 26-man squad for the games against Nigeria and Uganda with lots of expected names included.

However, Asante Kotoko shot-stopper Frederick Asare following his consistent and stellar performances in the Ghana Premier League, has caught the good eyes of the technical team who have handed him the opportunity and is the only home-based player to make the cut.

This is the first time the Black Stars will be regrouping since their disastrous campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held early this year in Cote D'Ivoire.

The Black Stars will take sworn rivals Nigeria on March 22, in Marrakech, and the Cranes of Uganda on March 26, as confirmed by the GFA.

The game will be used as a preparatory path for the four time African champions who will face Mali in June in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
