Bofoakwa Tano showcased their strength at home, securing a crucial victory against Karela United in the 23rd matchday of the Ghana Premier League.

The Sunyani-based team didn't let their home advantage slip away, triumphing with a 2-1 scoreline at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday, thanks to goals from Sammy Osae Akoto and Saaka Dauda.

Coming off a defeat in their previous match against Bibiani Goldstars, Bofoakwa Tano was determined to bounce back, and they did so convincingly against Karela United.

Their stellar performance began to shine early as Sammy Osae Akoto found the back of the net after 35 minutes, giving his team the lead heading into halftime.

However, Karela United didn't back down after the break, intensifying their efforts and managing to level the score in this highly anticipated encounter. Mohammed Asigre scored the equalizer for Karela United in the 65th minute, setting up a tense finale.

Yet, it was Bofoakwa Tano's captain, Saaka Dauda, who rose to the occasion once again. Dauda, a key player for his team throughout the season, delivered the winning goal in the 72nd minute, ensuring that the valuable three points remained in Sunyani.

Despite the triumph, Bofoakwa Tano still finds themselves battling relegation, currently occupying the 16th position in the league standings with 26 points, trailing Karela United by just one point.

As for Karela United, they sit one spot above the relegation zone, holding the 15th position with 27 points, emphasizing the significance of every point in the race to avoid relegation.
