Aduana Stars gaffer Yaw Acheampong suffered another crushing blow in his bid to avoid the sack as Great Olympics thrashed the Fire Boys 4-2 in a Ghana Premier League match-week 23 fixture at the WAFA Park.
Making amends for their harrowing Tuesday loss to Accra Lions, Oly Dade ran riot in the first half and entered the break three goals to one, to the good thanks to Isaac Mensah, Albert Amoah’s brace (28’ and 35th minutes) before Aduana forward Zakaria Mumuni pulled a goal back before halftime.
Wild challenges began to fly in left, right and centre from the exasperated visitors, but there would be a silver lining in the 72nd minute, as Albert Amoah completed his hat trick on the day with his side’s fourth goal.
Any late nerves in the home end wasn’t extinguished as Aduana scored their second on the day in the 83rd minute to force the match to end 4-2.
Great Olympics has climbed up to the 10th position with 31 points, while Aduana are still lurking on the 3rd spot with 36 points.
