Heart of Lions left it late to stun Medeama in a highly competitive Ghana Premier League clash on Sunday, securing a crucial 1-0 victory at the Akoon Community Park.

Medeama succumbed to a home defeat on matchday 32, boosting the Lions' chances of surviving the relegation drop. Both teams entered the match with three consecutive victories in the domestic top flight.

Despite creating several goalscoring opportunities, neither side managed to find the back of the net in the first half. Medeama approached the game with determination, aiming for maximum points, but the Lions, equally desperate for points, proved to be the stronger side.

The game seemed destined for a draw until the visitors grabbed a dramatic late winner. Ebenezer Abban fired home the decisive goal in injury time, converting a penalty with composure.

Despite the defeat, Medeama remains in third position with 49 points after 32 matches. The Lions, on the other hand, climb to 13th place with 41 points.

With two games left in the campaign, Heart of Lions will be hoping to secure maximum points to maintain their status in the league.
