Issah Ibrahim's second half goal inspired Accra Lions to a narrow 0-1 win over Hearts of Oak in an epic encounter at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in Ghana Premier League match-week 28.

This is the first time Accra Lions are beating the giants since they started playing in the topflight and had to have this accomplished on their sixth attempt.

Both teams started very well and sold a very beautiful game especially in the opening twenty minutes having kept the ball on the pitch more often and tried using the wings more to attack each other.

On the 23rd minute, Salim Adams came so close to scoring from a free kick but his thunderbolt of a strike was parried away by goalkeeper Andrews Owusu.

An unpleasant incident unfolded on the 31st minute after Glid Otanga collided with Daniel Awuni in an aerial tussle with the former stretched off after a huge cut close to his eye and was later replaced by Gideon Asante.

In the second half, both teams returned with similar momentum with the Rainbow Club hoping to be more purposeful upfront this time having missed some clear opportunities in the first department.

Just eleven minutes from the break, Issa Ibrahim gets the ball into the net to put Accra Lions ahead after a good counter attack.

The 'Phobians' attacked the game subsequently from every angle, firing from all cylinders but getting the ball past Andrews Owusu was the major problem.

Hamza Issah came so close to levelling the score with five minutes to full time after rounding an opposing defender to strike but his effort took a deflection and resulted in a wasted corner kick.

Accra Lions finished the game with a 0-1 win to record their first ever league win over the 21-time Ghanaian champions.
