FC Samartex 1996 head coach Christopher Ennin has voiced his disappointment after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Karela United in their Matchday 2 clash of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

The Timber Boys fell behind early at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday when Mohammed Zaidan struck for Karela in the first half. Samartex restored parity through Samuel Tetteh but were unable to find a decisive winner despite late pressure.

Addressing the media after the game, Ennin criticised his players for abandoning the tactical plan, which he said directly contributed to conceding the opening goal.

“I am really disappointed with the result, especially conceding that early goal,” Ennin admitted. “That is usually our strength, to score first and control the game. But tactical indiscipline is what led to us conceding.”

Although Samartex remain unbeaten after two games, Ennin’s frustration highlighted his expectation for the team to turn solid performances into consistent victories.

The Timber Boys will now shift focus to Matchday 3, where they face Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex as they chase their first win of the new campaign.
