Aduana Stars secured a late victory over Heart of Lions in their Ghana Premier League match on Sunday, thanks to a stoppage-time goal from defender Alex Boakye.

The win at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro kept Aduana Stars in contention for the league title.

Coach Yaw Acheampong made changes to the squad that lost to Bofoakwa Tano in the previous round, with Yaw Ansah Fufuro returning in goal and Sam Adams, who scored a hat-trick against Real Tamale United, back in the starting lineup after missing the last match due to injury.

Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford stuck with the same squad that beat Accra Lions 1-0 last week. Despite dominating the first half, Aduana Stars failed to capitalize on their chances, with Lions goalkeeper Lawrence Osei making a crucial save.

The visitors improved in the second half, but couldn't find the breakthrough. Boakye's close-range goal in stoppage time sealed the win for Aduana Stars, who remain in third place on the league table.
