Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has backed the Black Galaxies to secure qualification for the 2025 African Nations Championship and potentially win the title ahead of their playoff qualifying round against Nigeria.
After Hearts of Oak's 3-1 win over Berekum Chelsea, the Ivorian gaffer expressed confidence in Ghana's chances against Nigeria in the upcoming crunchy CHAN qualifiers.
"I believe in this team. They can qualify. This is not the first time Ghana is facing Nigeria at such a critical stage.
"We need to win this tournament. If we qualify, we must aim to take the trophy and bring it home. Good luck to the team, and let us all support them."
The Black Galaxies face Nigeria's Super Eagles B in the CHAN qualifiers first leg on Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match kicks off at 4:00 PM local time (16:00 GMT). The return leg is set for December 28, 2024, in Nigeria.
