FC Samartex captain, Kofi Agbesimah has made a remarkable return from injury after suffering a dangerous head collision with goalkeeper Musah Zakari during their MTN FA Cup round of 16 clash against Medeama SC. 

The incident occurred in the pulsating encounter that ended in a goalless draw in regulation time with Medeama advancing subsequently with a 4-2 win via penalty shootouts. 

In the course of the game, Agbesimah leaped highest in an attempt to deal with a well-crafted free kick into the box but unfortunately he clashed heads with his goalkeeper Musah Zakari and went down on the pitch helpless in a very a scary situation. 

Players on the pitch and medics reacted swiftly and ensured he was stable for a short while before he was later rushed to the hospital. 

Initial medical reports suggested the hardworking defender would be sidelined for several weeks due to the severity of the head injury, leading to fears he could miss a chunk of the ongoing season. 

However, Agbesimah has bounced back quicker than expected and has already resumed full training with the Timber Giants putting him in contention for the game against league leaders Medeama SC this season. 

The Green-Blacks were recently flying with some string of good results but are currently winless in their last two matches and will go all out for the three points this time around. 

The Western Derby is slated for Sunday, February 22, at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
