Head coach of Karela United, Jimmy Cobblah, has commended Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara for his exceptional performance in their 1-0 defeat to Kotoko at the Naa Salerigu Sports Centre, marking the opening game of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season for both teams.

Camara, stepping in for regular starter and captain Frederick Asare, who is on national duty with the Black Stars, made several crucial saves to deny Karela United an equalizer, earning him the Man of the Match award.

Speaking to Max TV after the match, Cobblah praised Camara's efforts, acknowledging his pivotal role in securing Kotoko's win.

“The first half belonged to Kotoko, and they got their goal. In the second half, we dominated, but Kotoko defended gallantly, and luck wasn’t on our side. In football, you always need a bit of luck to win games, and we didn’t have that today. I congratulate them for defending well, especially their goalkeeper. He really won the game for them today.”

Karela United will now focus on their next fixture against Berekum Chelsea on September 15 in Berekum.
