Asante Kotoko assistant coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng remains confident in the club’s title ambitions despite their 1-1 home draw against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
Obeng said the Porcupine Warriors improved after the break, controlling the game and creating opportunities to score more goals.
“Of course. Looking at the second half, we controlled the game and our build up wasnt part. We had chances and could have scored more but we,” he said.
He explained that changes in midfield helped improve the team’s performance after the interval, with fresh legs bringing more movement and energy.
“Our midfielders were static at half time with less than movement. We did that in the second half by bringing in fresh legs abd that made the magic,” Obeng added.
Despite concerns over the team’s lack of goals from the strikers, the assistant coach believes Kotoko can still challenge for the title and has urged supporters to continue backing the team.
“We’re not ok our strikers ain’t scoring but is all about keeping our structure and maintain plan. We hundred percent confident to fight the title and just need our supporters behind us,” he said.
Asante Kotoko will travel next to the Golden City Park to face Berekum Chelsea.
