FC AshantiGold 04 produced a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Swedru All Blacks 2-1 at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday, securing their first away victory of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Obuasi-based side recovered from an early setback to claim all three points, ending a difficult run on the road while also bringing an end to All Blacks’ impressive home form.
The hosts made a flying start and opened the scoring in the seventh minute through Faisal Charwetey, who gave the Black Magicians an early advantage.
AshantiGold responded almost immediately, restoring parity seven minutes later when Zak Musah found the net to level the scores in the 14th minute.
The visitors grew in confidence after the equaliser and continued to push for a winner, while All Blacks searched for a goal to regain the lead.
Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Frederick Twumasi struck the decisive goal, completing a remarkable turnaround for the Elephants.
All Blacks were unable to find a late response as AshantiGold held firm to secure a vital victory away from home.

The result marks a major improvement for the Elephants, who had managed only a draw in their opening away fixture against Port City before suffering three consecutive defeats on their travels.
For Swedru All Blacks, the defeat ends a run of three straight league victories and brings their 10-match unbeaten home streak to an end.
AshantiGold will now look to build on the morale-boosting win in their upcoming fixtures, while All Blacks will be eager to bounce back after seeing their formidable home record come to an end.
