Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has refused to aim for anything other than losing its status in the Ghana Premier League, because winning the title “is not a Pizzaman ChickenMan golden ticket”.

The Dzie Woa Nu are battling Bibiani Gold Stars for the 'time being' first place spot and will host Basake Holy Stars at the Kpandu Stadium this Saturday, but Hayford does not want his team to think that winning the Ghanaian top flight is their only priority. He wants his team to keep developing and improving until they can aim for the ultimate.

"I'm not saying I will win the title with Heart of Lions. Last season, we struggled, and this season we don't want to struggle like last season. That is my target," he stated on Asempa FM.

Hayford knows that his Heart of Lions tenure will be judged by whether his team continue to improve next season and beyond, rather than by which African competition they play in. And he does not want to aim for anything less than remaining in the league, and then later on 'the top'.
