In the wake of the dissolution of Hearts of Oak's board of directors, the club has swiftly moved to appoint Togbe Afede XI and Delali Anku-Adiamah as directors, aligning with the majority shareholder's commitment to restructuring the leadership ahead of the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) slated for March 2024.

A statement released by the club clarified that the decision to appoint new directors was necessitated by compliance requirements outlined in Section 171 (1) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992). The Act mandates that a company established after its enactment must have at least two directors, with one being ordinarily resident in Ghana.

Togbe Afede XIV, Chairman of Strategic Initiatives Ltd, resumes his pivotal role as Executive Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, while Delali Anku-Adiamah, Managing Director of Strategic African Securities Ltd, joins the board as a director.

The club extended gratitude to the outgoing board members for their commendable leadership and stewardship over the past 12 years. Under their guidance, Hearts of Oak witnessed notable successes both on and off the field, including substantial infrastructure advancements.

The reconstituted board is slated for official approval during the upcoming AGM, with the club expressing confidence that these changes will propel its mission to attain pre-eminence within Africa and beyond.
