Head coach of Medeama SC, Augustine Evans Adotey has admitted he expected a very tough encounter coming into the game against Hearts of Oak whom he knew were definitely coming in for a revenge.

Revenge because the Mauves and Yellows mauled the 'Phobians' by an emphatic 1-5 in Accra last season in their quest to clinching their first ever GPL title.

The 'Phobians' gave a perfect response though not closer after inflicting a resounding 3-1 win over the champions to pick their second win of the season.

Young sensation Hamza Issah netted a brace in the game, coupled with an own goal with Godknows Dzakpasu getting the consolation for Medeama SC.

In a post-match interview, the experience gaffer stated they had a very poor start and strongly believes that caused their defeat.

“I knew Hearts of Oak fans and the club itself would want to revenge the 5-1 scoreline last season."

“I knew it wasn’t going to be easy for me and that exactly happen. I didn’t start the game well. (Conceding) three goals in the first half and then coming back and then holding on till the final whistle meant that if I had started the game well, the results wouldn’t have been this score line.”

Medeama SC are currently 11th on the league log with ten points and will face Legon Cities in the next round of matches.
