Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports of a player revolt over welfare concerns, insisting that the club provides adequate meals and conditions for its players.

In a statement dated October 8, 2026, the Phobians dismissed reports suggesting that players were not being properly catered for.

The capital-based club said players selected for home matches receive dinner the night before, followed by breakfast, lunch and dinner on matchdays.

For away games, players and officials are provided with three meals on the day before the match and on matchdays.

Hearts of Oak also insisted that the welfare of their players, technical team and staff remains a priority and urged supporters to disregard the reports.

“We wish to emphasise that the welfare of our players and officials remains paramount,” the club said.

The statement comes ahead of Sunday's Ghana Premier League clash against newly promoted Port City, with the Phobians hoping to return to winning ways after an inconsistent start to the season.

Hearts of Oak have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat in their opening five league matches under head coach Nebojša Kapor.

The club management reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of its players and staff as it seeks success in domestic and continental competitions.
