Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have opened negotiations with Berekum Chelsea to secure the services of goalkeeper Gregory Obeng Sekyere.

The 20-year-old has been in scintillating form for the Blues, earning recognition as one of the standout shot-stoppers in the Ghana Premier League.

As per an inside source, Hearts of Oak have been in talks with Obeng Sekyere during the last three games of the 2023/24 season, as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The Ghanaian giants have been left disappointed by their goalkeepers' recent performances, prompting a search for a new goalkeeper after they survived the relegation scare.

Hearts of Oak currently have Richard Attah, Kwadwo Osei Bonsu as well as Kwesi Nketiah in their books. However, Attah is expected to leave the club this summer with the club deciding against renewing his contract.

Meanwhile, Obeng Sekyere impressed in his 28 appearances for Berekum Chelsea in the just-ended season, keeping 12 clean sheets and conceding just 31 goals.

With his impressive form, it's no surprise that Hearts of Oak are keen to bring him on board to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
