Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has leveled serious allegations against the club, stating that they have neglected him following his injury and instructed him to leave.
Despite this, Antwi remains hopeful that the club will eventually assist him in getting the necessary medical treatment.
Antwi has been sidelined for 11 months due to his injury, and a doctor has advised him to undergo surgery. However, the club has not approved the surgery, leaving Antwi waiting.
"I got injured 11 months ago and the doctor advised me to undergo surgery so I’m still waiting for Hearts of Oak to do the needful," he said in an interview on Medeama FM.
Antwi revealed that he was told to leave the club when he asked about their support during his injury.
“After I got injured, they told me to go home," he said, expressing his disappointment with the club's response.
Despite this, Antwi remains calm and optimistic, believing that Hearts of Oak will ultimately provide the necessary assistance.
"I believe Hearts of Oak will come to my aid and help me undergo the surgery," he stated. Antwi also addressed rumors about his departure from the club, insisting that he still has a contract with Hearts of Oak.
Antwi joined the club from Legon Cities in August 2022 but has been largely underutilized, making only eight league appearances before his injury.
His absence last season compounded Hearts of Oak's goalkeeping issues, contributing to a challenging season that saw the club narrowly avoid relegation.
