Ghanaian goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has accused Hearts of Oak of neglecting him following his 11-month injury, as he remains on the sidelines awaiting surgery.
The goalkeeper, who has been out of action since August 2022, claims that the club has not approved the procedure recommended by his doctor.
In an interview with Medeama FM, Antwi expressed his frustration at the club's inaction, stating that he is still waiting for them to take the necessary steps to facilitate his surgery.
"I got injured 11 months ago and the doctor advised me to undergo surgery so I’m still waiting for Hearts of Oak to do the needful," he said.
When asked whether he would take legal action against the club, Antwi remained calm, expressing his confidence that Hearts of Oak would eventually come to his aid.
"I'm still under contract with Hearts of Oak, so I believe they will do what is right and help me get the surgery I need," he said.
Despite reports of his departure from the club, Antwi insists that he is still a member of Hearts of Oak and hopes to return to action soon.
However, his lengthy injury layoff has been a major concern for the club, particularly during last season when they struggled with goalkeeping issues and narrowly avoided relegation.
Antwi joined Hearts of Oak from Legon Cities in August 2022 but made only eight league appearances before his injury.
He hopes that his situation will be resolved soon and he can get back to doing what he loves - playing football.
