Ghanaian referee Reginald Collins Amoah has received a major continental nod after being invited by the Confederation of African Football to attend a preparatory course ahead of the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The training programme will run from May 7 to 13 in Morocco and will bring together selected referees and assistant referees considered for duty at the tournament.
The course is designed to improve officiating standards, strengthen decision-making consistency, and align officials with CAF’s latest technical instructions.
Amoah’s selection reflects growing confidence in Ghanaian referees at continental level, following consistent performances in domestic and international assignments.
The programme will include classroom sessions, fitness tests, match simulations, and training on key areas such as match control and VAR protocols where applicable.
If he successfully completes the course, Amoah is expected to be shortlisted to officiate at the tournament, one of Africa’s top youth competitions.
His invitation is seen as both a personal achievement and a sign of Ghana’s continued contribution to refereeing standards in African football.
