Hearts of Oak to break camp today after 2024/25 season

Hearts of Oak will break camp today for their players and technical team to have some rest in order to have themselves adequately prepared and ready for the 2025/26 season

The Ghanaian giants have announced their withdrawal from the highly-anticipated Eko International Tournament to be held in Lagos, Nigeria, for the same reason 

The Rainbow Club missed out on the league title last season despite finishing the campaign on a higher note but were dealt with another blow after losing to rivals Asante Kotoko over the weekend in the 2025 President Cup 

The ‘Phobians’ were to jet off to Lagos right after the game to partake in an off season tourney but have released a statement to back out due to change of date

The competition was originally to run from 6-13th July, but has now been rescheduled to 13-20 July 20. With this, Hearts of Oak feel their players haven’t rested enough since the end of the season and will have to break camp today for them to have some rest and return later in the month to begin preseason 

The 2000 African champions will have three cups to compete in the off season period where they will face Heart of Lions in the Homowo Cup, against city-rivals Great Olympics in the Democracy Cup and also in the GHALCA top four competition
