Hearts of Oak fans have called for coach Aboubakar Ouattara's sacking following their poor run of form that culminated in Sunday’s 1-0 thrashing by Basake Holy Stars.
The Ghana Premier League opening defeat saw the Phobian fans going berserk, calling for the head of the Ivorian tactician for losing his first game of the 2024/25 season.
While some, including the Public Relations Officer of the club, Kwame Opare Addo, have called for patience, the disappointed supporters feel they might end up fighting relegation if the former technical advisor for Moroccan giants WAC stays longer.
The calls for Ouattara’s sacking intensified with each passing day, as fans took to social media, demanding his immediate sack. Here is one of the comments as sampled by Kickgh.com.
“He’s had enough time to turn things around,” one die-hard fan vented. “We can’t keep giving excuses for poor results. This is Hearts of Oak, not a mid-table club!”
As the season uncoils, the fate of Aboubakar Ouattara hangs in the balance. Will he be given more time to turn things around, or will the growing unrest among the fans force the club to take swift action? Only time will tell, but for now, the once cordial relationship between the coach and the fans seems to be hanging by a dangling thread ready to be used to sew a three piece Agbada.
