FC Samartex are the champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season after recording a slim and crucial 1-0 win over Bibiani Goldstars in match-week 32.

The match commenced earlier this afternoon but had to be halted at some point due to a heavy downpour of rain in Samreboi with the game resuming later after it was confirmed the Nsenkyire Sports Complex pitch isn't really watery and is in a good state to allow for the fluidity of the game.

Both teams started the game on a blistering note and all looked very resolute and purposeful leaving a very balanced encounter that saw everything in the opening thirty minutes except a goal.

However, Samartex FC finally snatched the precious lead on the stroke of half time through hitman Emmanuel Mamah who kept his composure to finish off with a good goal.

The Timber Giants after the win have been declared champions of the league for the first time after their contenders Aduana Stars, Nations FC and Medeama SC all suffered defeats in their respective matches.

With two matches to spare, the Green and Blacks are comfortably champions and currently have 58 points on the league log after 32 games.

They will travel to the Naa Sheriga Sports Center to face struggling Karela United in the next round of matches.
