Hohoe United have secured a landmark promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, following a 3-1 victory over Inter Allies on the penultimate weekend of the 2024/25 Division One League Zone III season.

The win — their fifth consecutive triumph — capped a remarkable run of form that propelled the Volta Region-based side to the top of the table with one game to spare. With 22 wins in 29 matches, Hohoe United have combined consistency, tactical discipline, and attacking flair to outclass their competitors throughout the season.

The result, coupled with second-placed Port City’s failure to win against True Democracy, made it mathematically impossible for any team to overtake Hohoe United, confirming their automatic promotion to Ghana’s top flight.

Hohoe United’s rise is even more remarkable given their recent origins. The club was established in 2023 after the acquisition of Liberty Professionals’ Division One League slot by a new ownership group led by Member of Parliament for Hohoe, John-Peter Amewu. Following the Ghana Football Association's approval of the name change and necessary legal formalities, the club assumed all assets and liabilities of Liberty Professionals, rebranding as Hohoe United.

Their promotion marks a major milestone for the Volta Region, which will now be represented in the Premier League for the first time in recent memory. The club’s elevation brings renewed hope and pride to the region’s footballing community, and their presence is expected to add fresh energy to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Hohoe United will wrap up their campaign with a final match against former Premier League side Great Olympics, already assured of their place among Ghana’s footballing elite next season.
