Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has vowed to learn from his previous mistakes after leading the team to their first win of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians secured a 2-0 victory over Bechem United on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, bouncing back from back-to-back defeats in their opening matches. New signing Ransford Mensah and striker Hamza Issa found the net, delivering a much-needed result for the Accra-based side.
Ouattara had been under intense pressure ahead of the match, with sections of the Hearts of Oak supporters calling for his dismissal. However, after the win, the Ivorian manager acknowledged that he is learning from his experiences and focusing on improving his decision-making.
"I made changes against Lions, and it did not work," Ouattara said after the game. "Today, I kept faith in the team, and they responded well. It shows that we are human, but also that I am learning from these experiences and not repeating mistakes."
Hearts of Oak will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Nations FC in their next match at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Matchday 4.
