Hearts of Oak defender, Samuel Inkoom has apologized to the teaming fans for their below par performance last season in the Ghana Premier League.

The veteran lateral joined the 'Phobians' in the middle of last two seasons and has been playing a vital and special role in the locker room where he offer pieces of advices to the young players in the squad.

He made 23 appearances in all competitions last season; 22 in the league and one in the league cup- where he hugely missed a penalty against Dreams FC to suffer FA Cup eviction for the first time in two seasons.

The ill and embarrassing performance of the playing body throughout the season is the reason Hearts of Oak ended on the 12th position with 46 points.

In an interview, the ex- FC Basel star admitted they weren't at their best but ended up appealing to them to have patience as they hope to improve massively from now henceforth.

“I will just say that the playing body didn’t do what we are supposed to do to make the fans happy that is why now every fan is mad at us. They have every right” Inkoom told Citi Sports

“I will apologize on behalf of the team. They should forgive us but I want to tell them that the team is for them whether they like it or not” he added
