Former Asante Kotoko defender Charles Owusu has revealed that persistent injuries prevented him from excelling for the Ghanaian giants during his time with the club.

Owusu, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in October 2021, signed a three-year deal but was shown the exit door after failing to impress.

In an interview with Kessben FM, the 27-year-old attributed his unsuccessful spell at Kotoko to the injury woes that plagued him throughout his time with the club.

“My season with Kotoko was plagued by injuries. I couldn’t live up to expectations because of persistent injuries. The whole of last season I was unable to play football due to injury setbacks. I’m praying to secure move in order to partake in the 2024/25 football season” he said.

Owusu, who played for BA United before joining Kotoko, is currently training with Bofoakwa Tano but has not made any appearances due to ongoing injury issues.

He is eager to secure a move to a new club for the 2024/25 season, hoping to get back to his best and make up for lost time.
