Medeama Sporting Club forward Abdul Salam has set his sights on individual and collective success, revealing his ambition to finish the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season as the top scorer while helping the Tarkwa-based side clinch the league title.

The in-form striker says his primary focus is contributing to Medeama’s push for domestic glory, insisting personal accolades will only be meaningful if they translate into team success.

“At the end of the season, I want to be part of the team that will help Medeama win the Premier League,” Salam told Medi TV.
“As a number nine, I also want to emerge as the top scorer.”

Salam has been a key figure in Medeama’s campaign under head coach Ibrahim Tanko, featuring in all 14 Premier League matches so far this season. He has found the back of the net twice, playing an important role in keeping the Yellow and Mauve firmly in the title race.

His consistent performances were recently rewarded with the Player of the Month award — a recognition the forward says came through persistence and hard work.

“Winning the Player of the Month award feels great,” he added.
“The first nomination I didn’t win, so I told myself I would work harder to win the next one.”

With confidence growing, Abdul Salam is expected to lead Medeama’s attack this weekend when they travel to face Heart of Lions in their Week 16 Ghana Premier League fixture. The match is scheduled for Saturday at the Kpando Sports Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:30 pm.
