Out-gone Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Frederick Asare has reacted to his exit from the club and has expressed a huge honour of getting to represent a club of his childhood dream and at least leaving with a major silverware
The 26-year-old arrived from Accra Lions FC in 2022 highly recommended and has been outstanding since his arrival having fought his way to become the club’s first-choice at some point despite the tougher competition at the club and also elevated to being the captain
The lanky shot-stopper also got himself occasional invites to the Black Stars even though he never had the opportunity to man the post for the senior national team
Asare, endured what was the toughest campaign of his Kotoko career last season having lost his position to Guinean import Mohammed Richard but still managed to keep 7 clean sheets in 15 league games
The towering goalie took to X to express gratitude to ‘Asanteman’ for the trust and opportunity and he added he feels very elated that he left with a trophy
“The honour of wearing the armband of this great club and leading the team to lift this year's FA Cup is a memory that will live with me forever. I will FOREVER remain one of you, and the great memories we have shared will be with me forever.”
Frederick Asare played over 80 matches with 36 clean sheets in the Ghanaian topflight and new reports are that he’s attracted interest from clubs in Ethiopia and Tanzania
