Free agent Ibrahim Salifu's agent, Benedict Asiedu has highlighted deep on why his client has refused to extend his contract with giants Hearts of Oak and stated is because the suffered some form bad treatment from some top club officials.

Ibrahim Salifu joined the Rainbow Club in February 2021 from Eleven Wonders on a three-year deal and is willing to seek a new challenge elsewhere having exhausted all the years in the contract.

He's been very instrumental in the club's success, particularly helping them win the Ghana Premier League to halt the club's over a decade drought in the 2020/21 season.

Now head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has asked the player to stay away from the team's training for now until further notice and is very possible he won't feature in the Democracy Cup game slated for July 5.

This is due to the fact that, the player has been given a nonchalant attitude towards extending his stay with the Phobians with his contract with the club already exhausted.

In an interview on Kumasi-based Kessben FM, the player's agent Benedict Asiedu boldly revealed many reasons the player has decided to not to continue in the capital citing maltreatment as the main reason.

"It's about contract extension. We couldn't find an agreement because the player is hurt about certain things."

"The issues are that Hearts of Oak wanted to sell him to Nsoatreman FC without informing him, sidelining him for no reason, a new coach comes in, he plays him, and they told the coach to stop using him and all that. If there's time for him to extend his contract, it will be difficult."

In the just ended season, the 24-year-old has contributed two goals and ten assists in 32 league appearances for Hearts of Oak, showcasing his value and attracting interest from top clubs like Kotoko, Medeama SC and others.
