Asante Kotoko has secured the services of Sudanese striker Obdoelkarem Obdelrahman from Hay Alwadi Nyala in the Sudanese Premier League.

The 21-year-old has signed a season-long loan deal with the Porcupine Warriors and is set to arrive in Ghana on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, for medical examinations and to kickstart his career with the Kumasi-based club.

Obdelrahman, highly recommended by Sudan head coach and Asante Kotoko’s technical director Kwesi Appiah, is considered one of the top U23 talents in Sudanese football, having emerged from AlWadi.

This signing comes as part of Asante Kotoko’s efforts to revamp their squad following a major overhaul that saw 21 players depart after a disappointing sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Obdoelkarem Obdelrahman’s addition adds depth and international experience to the team, complementing the arrival of fellow Sudanese player Esmat Abdulhamid Mohammed from Al Hilal on loan.
