The anticipated loan move of Hearts of Oak's attacking midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim, to Nsoatreman FC has collapsed on transfer deadline day.

Sources indicate that despite being deemed surplus to requirements at the Accra-based club, Salifu has chosen not to depart this season.

Salifu originally made the switch to Hearts of Oak from Techiman Eleven Wonders two seasons ago and played a pivotal role in their triumphant campaign in 2021, securing a treble.

However, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder faced injury challenges in the previous season, and while he has been part of the Hearts of Oak squad presently training in Koforidua, reports suggest that he does not feature in the technical team's plans for the upcoming season.

Ibrahim had been presented with the opportunity to go on loan to Nsoatreman FC, a move that could have allowed him to regain form and continue his development in a different setting.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old has made the decision to remain at the club and vie for his position under the guidance of the new manager, Martin Koopman.

Salifu's talent is widely acknowledged, particularly as he earned the Most Valuable Player award during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
