Accra Lions head coach, Ibrahim Tanko bemoaned a "hugely disappointing" and "flat" performance from Accra Lions as they lost to Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League matchday 15 game on Sunday afternoon.

Super-sub Mawuli Wayo's two quickfire goals in the second half proved the difference as Hearts of Oak won 3-2 at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

Accra Lions created few clear chances in the dying embers as they missed out on the opportunity to beat their visitors.

“I think we started very well until the time they scored and it was a very tough game for us today but I think in the end they deserved to win more than us,” said Tanko.

“I’m disappointed in the score line but in terms of the performance, I think they did very well and so we have to go and do our homework for the next game against Dreams FC.

“We have learnt that we have to score. If you score one and the chance comes you have to score and in the premier league you have to score more goals to win.

“Scoring just one goal, always you have to be under pressure so definitely we are going to work on it."

Accra Lions have plunged into the relegation zone (16th) with 13 points, while Hearts of Oak are currently sitting on the 6th spot with 25 points.
