Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has lauded the performance of his players in their hard-fought victory against Accra Lions over the weekend in Sogakope.
The Rainbow Club nearly gave away a goal lead but put in extra effort to win 2-3 in the end against the Blue-Blacks in an epic GPL match-day 15 clash at the Red Bull Arena.
Hussein Mohammed opened the scoring account with a close range header coupled with a second half brace from substitute Mawuli Wayo. Nigerian duo Lucky Nwafor and Ezekiel Alladoh also got the two goals for the Lions.
Speaking in a post-match interview, the experienced Ivorian gaffer was pleased with the output of his lads and added he is very proud of them for what was a very paramount win for the club.
“I’m proud of the boys, I told them we are down by 2-1 but we can make it. Martin Karikari, Mawuli Wayo all changed the game but we took the three points and that’s most important thing."
“We lost concentration when we came out of the dressing room but the important thing is we took the three points and the rest, I will correct it in the training ground.”
Since the Super-Clash defeat, Hearts of Oak have now won their last two league matches and are currently in the 6th position with 25 points.
