Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko says he is pleased with his team’s 0-0 draw against Samartex 1996 in Matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The draw reduced Medeama’s lead at the top of the table to three points, down from seven, after their match against the Timber Giants at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday.
Both teams played a strong and exciting game, but neither could score, leaving the match goalless.
Even though they missed the chance to increase their lead, Tanko was happy with how his team performed away from home.
“It was a very good game. We had chances in the first half of the match and couldn’t utilize them. The second half was tough, but I’m happy to secure a point away,” he said.
Medeama remain top of the league with 45 points, but the gap to other teams is closing. Bibiani Goldstars are now second with 42 points, making the title race even tighter.
