Martin Koopman, the head coach of Hearts of Oak, remains resolute in his position that he is not accountable for the team's struggles in the Ghana Premier League.

Despite the commencement of the 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign, the Phobians have fallen short of expectations.

After participating in five matches, Hearts of Oak has achieved only a single victory.

In a span of five games, the capital-based club has only managed to score one goal, resulting in two losses and two draws.

Due to the team's lackluster performance, Hearts of Oak currently finds itself in the relegation zone.

During an interview with Akoma FM, Coach Martin Koopman emphasized that he is not the cause of the club's difficulties.

He contended that if he is indeed the source of the problem, he wouldn't object to being dismissed for it.

He remarked, "If I am Hearts of Oak's problem, just give me the sack."

In the previous weekend when Hearts of Oak played to a goalless draw with Samartex FC, the coach noted that his wingers and attackers are not finding the net.

He argued that this issue extends beyond his team and is evident in the national team as well.

This weekend, Coach Martin Koopman will be hoping for a victory as his team faces Bibiani Gold Stars.
