Bofoakwa Tano FC got held by Accra Lions to an exciting 1-1 stalemate at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday afternoon in match-day 7 opener of the Ghana Premier League.

Bofo started on an explosive note and got the opener in just a minute from kickoff through Najib Fuseini who scored with a beautiful volley from Bright's javelin throw.

The Lions settled down quickly and took the game under their control and took a lion share of possession but were always struggling to unlock the opposition backline.

The homesters regrouped very well and came back strongly in the game and nearly doubled their lead on the 33rd minute but Najib's effort this time was dealt with nicely by goalkeeper Daniel Afful.

In the second half, the home team returned on another good fashion and nearly scored another early goal after skipper Saaka Dauda flicked down nicely a long delivery on the path of Isaac Baffoe in the box but his effort missed the target by few inches.

The visitors won't relent anytime soon as they also continue to attack from all sides in search of the opener. Evans Osei came close but his long range hit was wide off the crossbar for a restart.

On the 69th minute, a beautiful Accra Lions build up fell on the path of Daniel Awuni who calmly picked his spot beautifully to get his side back on level terms.

Bofoakwa Tano were given a free kick at very good position with thirteen minutes to full time, Saaka Dauda's delivery was well executed but was cleared away to a wasted corner kick.

Accra Lions came so close to scoring on the 85th minute after Bofo goalie failed to handle a long throw in and resulted on Yahaya Mohammed whose header was cleared just on the line. That was close.

After series of chances created subsequently, there was no goal registered again as it finished 1-1 after full time.

Bofoakwa Tano failed to win at home for the second consecutive time whereas Accra Lions finally put an end to their recent losing streak.
