Head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashiru Hayford has once again lamented on how wasteful his team has been lately even though he was satisfied with the draw.
The Giant Killers finally halted their poor losing streak after holding the ‘Muje Gabah’ lads to pulsating goalless draw in a thrilling GPL week 17 opener at the Hohoe United Stadium
Hohoe United had a big opportunity after Lawson Bekui weaved his way through enemy territory but was brought down in the box by Heart of Lions captain Ebenezer Abban for a penalty.
Captain Safian Usman stepped up for the ‘Muje Gabah’ lads and skied off the kick in a very awful fashion in the 65th minute.
The Giant Killers were always operating from the flanks making some explosive attacks but couldn’t make them count.
Subsequently, Michael Ephson put Obeng Jr through with a decent pass to set up a one on one situation but his effort missed the target narrowly.
In a post-match presser, the two-time GPL winner says it was a game they have to be satisfied with the results and added they will still have to work on how to convert their chances.
“Both sides are happy with the draw. Hohoe and Kpando have a good relationship so maybe God didn’t want to make one happy
“Consistency is very good. My boys always play well but converting our chances is the problem. It’s something I have been working on. Getting just two or three points in seven matches is very sad.”
Heart of Lions have now ended their four-game losing streak but have still extended their winless run and are now in sixth position with 24 points and will travel next to Dreams FC
